When to choose an extended follow-up

An extended follow-up is for existing patients who need more time to review results, discuss ongoing symptoms or treatment choices, and agree the next steps in their care. Allow approximately 40 minutes; the fee is £325. The appointment type and fee are agreed when booking.

A complex prostate cancer consultation or second opinion is a separate 60-minute appointment at £550.

What the consultation fee covers

The consultation fee covers the appointment with Professor Ilie. Investigations, scans, pathology, procedures and hospital services are charged separately. If an extended review is needed, its fee will be agreed before booking.

Planning for robotic prostatectomy

Robotic prostatectomy is undertaken at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, subject to individual clinical assessment and scheduling.

After assessment, the team can help you obtain a written quotation for the proposed operation. Check the surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist’s fee, hospital charges, pathology, follow-up and any exclusions before accepting.

The hospital and surgical arrangements, total cost and cancellation terms should be confirmed in writing. A consultation does not oblige you to proceed with surgery.

Using medical insurance

Professor Ilie is recognised by Aviva, AXA Health, Vitality, WPA and Healix. Bupa recognition is in progress.
